About Original Features
Original Features is a tile supplier based in London that has been trading since the mid-1980s. The business supplies Winckelmans tiles, which are geometric and encaustic clay tiles manufactured in the Victorian style. These tiles are available in up to 32 colours for square, triangle and rectangle shapes, and also in octagon, hexagon, round edge, skirting and step tread tiles.
The tiles are fully vitrified, frost resistant and suitable for interior and exterior use, including hallways, kitchens, bathrooms, decorative walls, splashbacks, conservatories and garden paths. They are scratch and stain resistant and can be used in areas of heavy traffic. Victorian and Edwardian floors laid over a century ago remain in use. Properly laid and maintained Winckelmans floors have a life expectancy of well over 50 years.
Original Features started as a small shop in Crouch End, North London, selling tiles to customers restoring 19th and early 20th-century homes. The business now supplies customers across the UK through e-commerce. Customers choose from established traditional designs in multiple colour combinations, recreate period looks, or design original patterns for their homes. The business can provide design advice and technical information on request. Wayne Marden is the General Manager.
