How this directory works

What we do

We list tilers based in UK towns and counties, alongside plain information about what each kind of tiling job involves and what it usually costs per square metre or per job. You contact the business directly using the details on its page.

Who counts as a tiler here

A business is listed when tiling is the trade it leads with. Bathroom fitters, plumbers, plasterers and builders who also tile are not listed as tilers; a tiler who also does a second trade is listed, and its page says so. Tile shops and showrooms are not listed.

Qualifications and credentials

Tiling has no licence and no statutory register in the UK. Where a business belongs to The Tile Association, is registered with TrustMark, or is a Schlüter Registered Installer, and a person has matched it against that body's public directory, the listing says so with the date and a link. An NVQ or a CSCS card a business says it holds is shown as stated. An NVQ has no public register; a CSCS card can be checked on CSCS's online card checker, which the Premium owner check does. Networks

Members of a national network (a regrouting and restoration network, for example) are listed and marked as such, but never count towards whether a town has a page of its own.

What we do not do

• We take no commission and sell no leads. Listing is free; Premium is an optional paid extra for tilers, and it buys tools, a verification check and badges, never a position.
• Position is never for sale. Listings are ordered by how recently they were checked and how complete they are, and by nothing else.
• We do not rank or review businesses. There are no scores and no verdicts here. We publish facts about who trades where and what they take on.
• We do not copy ratings or reviews from other platforms.

How listings get here

Businesses are found through public sources: local search listings, businesses' own websites and social pages, and Companies House. Each listing records where the business is actually based and why we think so, and each page shows when it was last checked. Lead-generation sites that present a national operation as a local business are not listed.

What the badges mean

Not yet claimed by the owner. The listing was built from the business's own public details and checked on the date shown, but the owner has not been in touch with us yet. It says nothing about the tiler. Claiming is free.

Owner verified (paid check). The business pays for Premium, which includes a check, and a person confirmed with it, on the phone number or email it already publishes, that it runs this listing and that the details are current. The badge shows only once that check is done, and comes off a year later unless the check is repeated. It is not a judgement on the tiling.

Premium (paid plan). The tiler pays £12 a month plus VAT for tools: their own price list on the profile, photos of their work, and their lead time. It includes the yearly verification check; the Owner verified badge appears once that check is done. It is not a quality mark.

Neither paid badge changes the order listings appear in. Order is set by the date we last checked a listing's public details and how complete those details are, and nothing a business pays for touches either.
