Natural stone tiling prices in the UK
Natural stone wall tiles cost £110 to £150 or more per m² supplied and fixed in MyJobQuote's wall tiling guide (September 2026). The same guide puts ceramic at £60 to £90 and porcelain at £70 to £100, so most of the difference is the stone itself and the slower laying. Sealing adds to it.

What moves the price
- The stone. Slate and some limestones cost less than polished marble; the stone is the largest part of an all-in price.
- Calibration. Uneven, uncalibrated stone is bedded tile by tile and takes longer than calibrated tiles of one thickness.
- Sealing. Pre-sealing before grouting and sealing after are usually priced on top, and the sealer is a recurring cost.
- Weight. A heavy stone on a plaster wall may need the wall lined or the plaster taken back first.
- Blending and cutting. Opening and mixing boxes, and cutting hard or brittle stone, both add time.

Yes, on a tanked wall, with the right adhesive and sealing. It is softer than porcelain and etched by acidic cleaners and limescale removers, so it needs gentler care.
