Figures are MyJobQuote's published cost guide ranges with tiles included, checked 2 October 2026, not quotes from tilers on this site. A labour-only price for the same splashback will look much lower; compare like with like.
What moves the price
- Cuts. Sockets, a window reveal and a cooker hood each mean extra cutting, and on a small splashback the cuts take longer than the whole tiles.
- The tile itself. In MyJobQuote's guide the same 2 to 3 m² costs £120 to £210 with budget tiles and up to £600 or more with luxury ones.
- Small-job pricing. A splashback rarely fills a day, so many tilers charge a half or full day; both cost guides put a day between £150 and £350.
- Floor before or after units. Tiling the full floor before units go in uses more tiles and more days than tiling only the visible floor.
- Removing the old splashback. Old tiles bonded to the wall can bring the surface away, which then needs making good before tiling.
