Cost guide
Regrouting prices in the UK
Regrouting costs about £15 per m² on average, materials and labour, in Checkatrade's regrouting cost guide (2026). The same guide puts an average shower at £160 and a bathroom at £380, usually a day's work. Epoxy grout and badly stained or deep joints cost more.

Typical prices
Ranges, not quotes. A price depends on the job.
| Work | Typical UK price |
|---|---|
| Regrouting per m², average | about £15 |
| Regrouting a shower, average | about £160 |
| Regrouting a bathroom, average | about £380 |
Averages from Checkatrade's regrouting cost guide, checked 2 October 2026, not quotes from tilers listed here. If tiles are loose or a shower leaks, regrouting will not fix it, and a quote should say so.
What moves the price
- Area. Checkatrade's average of about £15 per m² scales with the tiled area; a single shower costs much less than a whole bathroom.
- Joint width and depth. Wide or very hard old grout takes longer to rake out cleanly.
- Grout type. Epoxy grout costs more and takes longer to apply than cement-based grout.
- Silicone. Replacing silicone at corners and along the bath or tray is usually part of the job; check it is in the price.
- Access. Floors under fixed units or walls behind a vanity unit add time.
